Nelson Koech, Belgut Member of Parliament, has accused the media of what he claims is a wrong narrative to the public on the contentious Finance Bill 2023 which will be tabled before Parliament on June 15.
“The media has sensationalized the debate around the bill, claiming that it sways a majority of Kenyans who have not taken time to personally peruse through the bill,” he said.
Koech claimed that the media has turned a blind eye to those who have come out to support the bill and has instead focused on reporting those who have opposed it.
According to Koech, the bill entails lots of favorable proposals which will benefit Kenyans, and the media should fill in the crevices causing the information gap.
For the moment, Azimio la Umoja coalition has signaled the beginning of anti-government protests if the controversial bill 2023 is not reviewed.
On the other hand Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is asserting that the bill will pass as it is.
