Siaya county government has unearthed new evidence of abuse of office and misuse of public resources against its deputy governor of William Oduol.

Addressing a press conference at Siaya County headquarters, Cyrus Oguna said they will be handing over the evidence to the EACC to aid investigations since there has been a delay.

Cyrus Oguna, said the new evidence of abuse of office by Oduol touches on manipulation and influencing payment to certain contractors which is contrary to the public procurement and asset disposal Act and public finance management Act.

“We reiterate that the issue of the Kshs.600million is a historical issue which has been under investigation for more than 2years, long before this current government took office.”

In a response to Oguna’s presser, Oduol dismissed it as diversionary antics aimed at confusing the public affirming that he will be willing to step aside for investigations should he be implicated in the graft within the executive in Siaya.

Oduol expressed his lack of confidence in the County Assembly, saying he was ready to appear for an impeachment motion in the Senate.
