Migori County Government workers union Executive Secretary Silavnace Araja has called on the members of the national assembly to reject the Finance Bill 2023 saying that proposals in the bill will hurt civil servants.
He said the electorates are keenly watching the legislators saying that those who support the bill will meet them on the ballot come 2027 election.
“The workers are opposed to the proposed 3 per cent salary deduction for the House levy because a number of workers have already built their houses and others has also made their own arrangements,” said Araja.
He said those interested in affordable housing should contribute but those not interested must be exempted from the scheme.
The county government workers union executive secretary said he will rally workers to protest against the Finance Bill 2023.
