Dolphene Nyangara Onkoba, a Jubilee Party nominated MCA in Nyamira County, finds herself in a state of apprehension after receiving threatening messages from an anonymous phone number. These threats are allegedly linked to a legal case she has filed before the Court of Appeal, adding a new layer of concern to an already contentious situation.
Dolphene’s nomination had faced a significant setback, prompting her to seek legal recourse by filing a case before the Court of Appeal. However, it appears that this move has not been well-received by certain individuals who have resorted to intimidation tactics.
The threatening message that Dolphene received carries a sinister warning, suggesting that her life may be in danger. Undeterred by the alarming message, she boldly stated, “The message says that my body is going to be found in Yala River. This thing is really stressing me. I will not bow down to threats and intimidations. They are telling me to withdraw my case in the Court of Appeal. I withdraw the case so that I live in peace. I’m not going to leave my party; I’m not going to withdraw the case. I’m going to fight on.”
