KNEC Announces Mandatory Rehearsals for July 2026 B&T Candidates.

Written by on July 16, 2026

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has directed all Business and Technical (B&T) candidates sitting the July 2026 examinations to attend mandatory rehearsals this week.

In a notice issued on July 15 the council said the rehearsals will be held on Friday, July 17, at designated examination centres across the country.

“Official rehearsals will take place on Friday, 17th July 2026, countrywide. This is a crucial step to ensure you are fully prepared for your upcoming exams. Make sure you know exactly what is expected of you,” KNEC stated.

The rehearsal will serve as the final preparation exercise before the examinations begin, allowing candidates to familiarise themselves with examination procedures and verify that all their details are in order ahead of the papers.

KNEC has outlined what candidates should expect during the mandatory rehearsals, urging them to use the exercise to confirm the dates and times of each examination paper.

Candidates have also been advised to verify their examination centre details and index numbers to avoid administrative errors that could disrupt their examinations.

The council further urged candidates to carefully review any special instructions relating to their theory or practical papers, noting that different examinations may have specific requirements that must be met.

Those who identify discrepancies in their timetables or personal details have been advised to report them immediately to their centre managers, who have been tasked with resolving such issues before the examinations begin.

The rehearsals are for post-school learners pursuing technical, vocational and business courses at National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes (TTIs), TVET institutions and Vocational Training Centres across the country.

The examinations will be taken by both Single and Group Candidates, who progressively combine certificates from elementary to advanced levels, as well as Artisan Candidates, whose assessments focus primarily on practical occupational skills.

The announcement comes days after KNEC released the March 2026 Business and Technical examination results.

In a notice issued on July 13, the council directed heads of institutions to collect the results in person from New Mitihani House in South C, Nairobi, on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
