PROF. P.L.O LUMUMBA:” MASS ACTION WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE “

Written by on March 16, 2023

Professor P.L.O Lumumba has asked Kenyans to reflect on the plan of having a mass action that has been scheduled on the March 20th next week by the Azimio leader Raila Amollo Odinga. He has said that the country is going through a great economic crisis and bringing political chaos would only make things worse and would only cause regrets in future.

Speaking during an interview in one of the media stations, P.L.O talked about the contents of his five-page letter that he wrote to President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga concerning the state of the nation. As a concerned and patriotic individual, he has given his views on the things affecting the nation of Kenya and the recommendations needed to help combat the situation.

“Leadership is about self-denial. We should reflect and ask ourselves if we want to destroy this country. Let us come together as a people and say mistakes may have been made but together we can resolve them because this is what patriotism is all about. “Lumumba urged.

He has further asked both the president and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to be restrained in their talks and actually let the government speak in a single voice so as to avoid confusion as to what the government stands for.

“I hear the president say that a line has been drawn in the sand and if you do certain things then we will do what is necessary and let the chips fall where they may. I personally pray and hope that we will not reach that stage and that those Kenyans of goodwill will advocate for togetherness between the two administrations for the success of our nation. “He explained.

In addition, Professor Lumumba in his letter addressed Raila Odinga asking him to put the country first and avoid personal fights that will only make this country a bloodbath. To the rest of the Kenyan leaders he asked them to do what they were elected to do and avoid holding rallies and using abusive language that breeds hatred and contempt amongst them and their supporters.

“Raila has talked of the cost of living in our country being very high and certain appointments could have been made better, which i totally agree with him. However, marching to state house on 20th will not solve those things. There is no single leader who has advocated for an emergency conversation regarding the direction in which the country is taking. “Lumumba insisted.

The Azimio one Kenya alliance is planning to hold a mass action next week on Monday where earlier on their leader Raila Odinga declared Monday a national holiday. This comes when students across the country are expected to report to school starting on the same day after breaking home for their half-term break.
