Operations at the Kisumu polytechnic came to a halt on Wednesday after students went on strike for a second time this week.

They claimed the university administration has declined to listen to their grievances and accusing their representatives of bonding with the management.

The students noted that a number of changes have been made in the institution without their involvement, kindling the protest.

Among other issues raised is the high cost of food at the University canteen which they want to be low-priced.

The Principal Catherine Kalonye however says the institution is being run by a Council that must formalize such increases before it is passed to the students.
