THE PRESSURE OF FAME, WHY EVERYONE WANTS TO BE KNOWN
Written by John on July 21, 2025
These days, many people dream of being famous. They want to be seen, followed, and loved by millions. Social media has made it easy for anyone to become popular, even from their bedroom. All you need is a phone and internet. Because of this, more and more people are trying hard to become famous, sometimes without thinking about what it really means.
Everyone Wants to Be Famous
In the past, only movie stars, singers or athletes were famous. But now, almost anyone can get attention online. Apps like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube have made it easy for people to share videos and photos with the world. Some people become famous overnight just by going viral. This has made many others feel like they need to do the same to feel important.
Fame now seems like the fastest way to get money, love, and respect. It looks exciting, nice clothes, travel, fans and attention. So people start posting every day, hoping for likes, views, and followers. It can feel like a competition.
Content Without Meaning
Sadly, some people are trying so hard to be famous that they post anything, even if it doesn’t make sense. Some copy others, do dangerous challenges or act in fake ways just to get views. It’s no longer about talent, creativity or sharing something helpful. It becomes about doing whatever it takes to be noticed.
This pressure can also make people feel like they are not good enough if they’re not going viral. Even young kids are saying they want to be influencers when they grow up, not because they love creating, but because they want fame.
The Hard Side of Fame
Fame looks fun, but it also comes with problems. When people become famous, they often feel like they can’t make mistakes. Every little thing they do is watched and judged. If they say the wrong thing, people on the internet can turn against them very fast.
Famous people also feel lonely. It’s hard to know who really cares about them. They may smile for the camera but feel sad inside. Some even deal with depression or anxiety because of the pressure.
It’s okay to want to be seen or appreciated. Everyone wants to feel valued. But chasing fame just to be noticed can lead to stress and unhappiness. Instead of trying to be famous, we should try to be real. Do what you love, share things that matter and don’t feel like you have to be someone else online.
Fame should not be the goal, being true to yourself should be.
