RADIO VUNA’S SEEDS OF TRANSFORMATION FOR OUR WORLD
Written by Obwoge Joseph on May 16, 2024
Climate change has been a thorn in the flesh in many regions in the world, now forcing many countries to put measures of trying to cub the rising temperatures destroying the natural phenomena.
Kenya’s president H.E William Samoei Ruto took an initiative of asking organizations, groups, companies and every Kenyan to plant at least 50 trees in a move to reduce the effects caused by habitants of the world.
“I response to the president’s call, Radio Vuna 102.0 FM swung’ into action to enact the orders, following the footsteps of many Kenyans who have embraced tree planting in different regions, we will host a tree planting activity at Isena PAG Primary School in Nyacheki Ward Kisii county,” affirmed the Managing Director John Ogoi.
In a collective effort to create and restore habitats crucial for biodiversity preservation, essential in maintaining the health of ecosystems, Radio Vuna has partnered with various stakeholders including Deputy County Commissioner Nyamache Sub County, Kisii Forest Service, Community Health Workers, farmers, to save the world.
“This initiative requires community engagement to succeed and by involving area residents, we seek to empower the community to take ownership of their natural resources and build resilience against environmental challenges, added Ogoi.
“As we embark on this transformative journey, we extend a heartfelt invitation to all members of the community, regardless of their level of environmental awareness. Your presence and participation are valuable contributions to creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come,” urged the Head of Radio Nyachae Brian.
It’s essential to understand that tree planting goes beyond symbolism; it’s a tangible solution to pressing environmental issues. Trees play a vital role in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, preventing soil erosion, and providing habitats for countless species.
In essence, this event symbolizes the seeds of change being planted, with the promise of a flourishing society that prioritizes environmental conservation and collective action.
Together, let’s sow the seeds of transformation and nurture a brighter tomorrow for our world and its inhabitants.
