PENINAH MALONZA SWORN IN AFTER FIRE BAPTISM

After a hefty discussion whether to let tourism cabinet secretary nominee Peninah Malonza pass through vetting pin-hole, the former Kitui deputy governor has been sworn in as minister for Tourism, wildlife and Heritage.

“It was real baptism by fire. Kenyans will now see the lioness in me through unmatched performance in my docket,” said Malonza.

Other cabinet ministers sworn alongside her were:

Replacing the outgoing cabinet minister Fred Matiang’i in the Interior and National administration Ministry was Professor Abraham Kithure Kindiki as former majority leader under the Jubilee government Aden Bare Duale took the ministry of defence.
The ministry of National treasury and planning was given to Professor Njuguna Ndung’u
Ministry of Public service gender and affirmative action to Aisha Jumwa Katana.
Ministry of water, sanitation, and irrigation to Alice Muthoni Wahome.
Former Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua was named as a Minister for Foreign and Diaspora affairs.
Ministry for Trade, investment, and industry was given to former Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.
Rebbeca Miano appointed as Minister for East Africa community, arid and semi-arid lands regional development.
The ministry of Roads, Transport and Public Works, to Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen.

Ministry of Environment and Forestry to Roselinda Soipan Tuya.
Ministry for lands, Housing, and Urban Development, to Zacharia Mwangi Njeru
Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Livestock Development – Frankline Mithika Linturi.
Ministry of Health – Susan Nakumicha Wafula.
Ministry of Information, Communication, and Digital economy – Eliud Owalo
Ministry of Education to former Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament Ezekiel Machogu Ombaki
Ministry of Energy and Petroleum – Davis Chirchir.
Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts to Ababu Namwamba.
Ministry of cooperatives and Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Development – Simon Chelugui.

The president also appointed:
1. Harriet Chigai to head as the Advisor on Women’s rights Agency.
2. Monica Juma as Advisor of National Security.
3. Attorney General to the former speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi.
4. Secretary to the Cabinet to Mercy Wanjau.
