Residents of Nyaribari Masaba Constituency in Kisii County have unanimously agreed to support the area MP Ezekiel Machogu to run for the Kisii county gubernatorial seat come 2022.

The residents have called out to the incumbent governor James Ongwae to support Machogu as he aspires to be the next governor. The residents have argued that Machogu is a man who has championed for development in his constituency since his election.

They have also requested Senator Sam Ongeri to join hands with Machogu to ensure that he has secured the seat. They have proposed to the senator to consider the MP whom they feel has the power and energy to lead the county.

Led by former MCA Birongo ward, Hon Godfrey Nyamache Ogembo they have thanked Governor Ongwae for exemplary leadership that he has shown.

Ogembo said that Ongwae has set a mark that only can be developed and taken to a further step by a leader from Nyaribari.

He on the other hand described Machogu as energetic and vibrant the very gem that people of Kisii county need at such a time.

“I personally would like to endorse Hon Ezekiel Machogu because of the following reasons, he is young, vibrant, dynamic and energetic and as a result, we request Prof Sam Ongeri to retire from politics and some young people like Machogu,” said Ogembo

The residents said that the county government of Kisii not only needs a politician but also an administrator and the only man who has met the criteria is Ezekiel Machogu.

“When I look at Machogu he is an administrator and the one to take the seat must be an administrator,” said Ogembo.

Other leaders who spoke on the occasion include William Osoro from Nyaribari Chache, Omboga Robert, and Councillor Ogati from Nyamasibi ward in Nyaribari Masaba constituency called upon all people from the vast Kisii county region to support Ezekiel Machogu in his bid to win the gubernatorial seat in the coming general elections.
