Preparations are on top gear ahead of National Mashujaa day celebration which is scheduled to take place in Gusii stadium
Regional Commissioner Njuki Mutindika has assured Kenyans of tight security and closure of some roads to ease congestion during the celebrations
Mutindika said due to MOH guidelines on covid19 they will restrict the number of people who will attend the ceremony.
“we will have 4,000 people getting to Kisii stadium and they will be using cards due to social distancing and also 8,000 people will be watching screens from the Kisii sports club, “said Mutindika.
He noted vehicles operating from Kisii Kilgoris road will make a stopover at Kisii campus, those from Kisii Kisumu Migori junction will make a stopover t at the Migori junction, Kisii Suneka road stopover at Nyanchwa secondary.
However, all roads getting in and out of the stadium remain closed.
He assured they have beefed up security and said the function will run smoothly as anticipated.
However, he dismissed the allegations that some leaders have been locked out from attending the function.
“We have invited all leaders and the politics going round that we have locked some out is not true,” said regional commissioner
