Despite the protests of Deputy President William Ruto’s friends, Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has promised to continue civic education.
During a speech in Ndia, Kirinyaga County, on Tuesday, Dr. Kibicho dismissed his critics, saying that Kenyans should be educated on how to elect for competent leaders.
After vowing to continue with civic engagement for the sake of the people of Kirinyaga, Kibicho added, “If my detractors don’t like what I’m doing, they should swallow razor blades.”
Opposition MPs have been taking aim at Dr. Kibicho, accusing him of becoming involved in succession politics rather than working on the pressing security challenges at hand.
According to the PS, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration has started and finished several projects in Mount Kenya, enticing the locals to support his political ambitions.
As Kibicho said, “the President understands very well who are the greatest leaders and the citizens should be prepared to follow his political orientation if they choose to continue to enjoy decent services”.
