Kenyan Athletes Prepare for Commonwealth Games Selection at Nyayo Trials

Kenya’s athletes are getting ready for an important competition at Nyayo National Stadium. The National Championships will also act as trials for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The event will take place from June 18 to June 20 and will help select athletes who will represent Kenya in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.
Athletics Kenya says the competition will bring together athletes from all 12 regions in the country. It will also include runners from the Kenya Defence Forces, training schools, and some Kenyans living abroad. Athletics Kenya Vice President Paul Mutwii said the event will be tough because athletes are fighting for limited spots in the national team. The best performers will get the chance to represent Kenya on the world stage.
