Court orders mental assessment for a 23-year old woman who allegedly beheaded his son

Akoth Otieno a 23-year-old woman from Ndhiwa sub-county, Homabay County allegedly beheaded his one-year-old son Britin Ochieng’ after he refused to breastfeed. Her husband is said to have been away at the time the incident happened.
She appeared before Magistrate Mary Ochieng on Monday morning and the magistrate ordered for her mental assessment at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital within seven days.
The incident occurred on Saturday around 9pm.
