ALARMING INCREASE IN DRUG AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE AMONG YOUTHS IN KISII COUNTY

Drugs and substance abuse is a topic of concern in Kisii County at the moment and if no proper measures taken we’ll lose the battle soon enough.

This issue has been a growing problem in our community, and it is high time we urgently address it.
The misuse of drugs and substances not only has a detrimental effect on the physical and mental health of our young people but also leads to increased crime rates and social instability. It is heartbreaking to see promising young individuals succumb to the destructive nature of addiction and substance abuse.
As a community, we must come together to tackle this issue head-on. We need to prioritize education and awareness programs about the dangers of drug and substance abuse. Additionally, we should work towards providing better access to rehabilitation and support services for those who are struggling with addiction.
Moreover, we need to create more opportunities for the youth to engage in positive and constructive activities, such as sports, arts, and skills development programs. By doing so, we can help them channel their energy and potential towards building a brighter future for themselves and our community.
We must take proactive measures to address the root causes of drug and substance abuse among the youth in Kisii. Let us not turn a blind eye to this issue, but rather, let us take a stand and work towards a healthier and more promising future for our young generation.
