The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is facing a shortage of about Sh5 billion as it prepares to conduct national exams for around 3.5 million learners this year. This has caused concern because a lot of money is needed to make sure the exams run smoothly across the country.
KNEC is in charge of making sure national exams are done in a fair and proper way. The lack of enough funds may affect important areas like printing exam papers, transporting them, and paying staff. Education officials are now being urged to find a quick solution so that the exams are not disrupted.
