Win for UDA in Kiagu Ward by-election as Jubilee excel in Mahoho

The by-election for the Kiagu Ward was won by United Democratic Alliance famously known as UDA candidate Simon Kiambi on Thursday.
Up a close contest that saw Milton Mwenda take in 1,823 votes for second place, Kiambi stunned his rivals by earning 2,240 votes.
Moses Kuria’s CCK which is well known to the public as Chama Cha Kazi party supported Mwenda.
In the ward with the most wealthy residents, there were more than 10 candidates in the contest.
Meanwhile, Donald Fundi of the Jubilee Party has won the Mahoo Ward by-election with 1,609 votes over UDA’s Daniel Kimuyu’s 1,358.
Since then, the Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly congratulated the two UDA by-election candidates and said that their victories show that the party is making national gains.
In Meru as well as Taita Taveta counties, residents of Kiagu and Mahoo wards gave Hustler Nation’s economic program a solid thumbs up. Ruto congratulated Kiagu winner Simon Kiambi and Mahoo runner-up Daniel Kimuyu.
“There is a strong Hustler Nation. Bottom-up economics is becoming more popular.” Ruto added.
