Trans-Nzoia: Two Police Officers Found Dead; Murder-Suicide

It’s possible a police pair in Kiminini in Transzoia County committed both murder and suicide.

Gunshots were heard soon after the two reportedly barricaded themselves in their residence at Kiungani Police Station.

The incident’s true cause is still a mystery.

At the Kiungani Police Station, where the two officers’ dead corpses were discovered inside a locked bedroom.

The area was crowded with curious onlookers hoping to get a sight of what was going on.

Before bullets rang out, the police couple is said to have barricaded themselves in their bedroom in this homicide/suicide suspect case.

“Nikaskia risasi tatu zinalia tukafikiria ni askari wanafanya bunduki ndio tumejua wameuwana,” Paul Mwangi, a neighbour told the media.

On Sunday morning, Dorcas Chebet is said to have visited her husband Abel Andari, who works at the station.

The home was fired at three times 30 minutes later.

In a statement, Jecinter Wesonga, the Transzoia Police Commander, described the event involving young police as “overwhelming.”

Those two officers were in their late twenties, according to the director of the police department.

The motivation for the incident has not yet been determined by the police. At the site, investigators discovered a G3 rifle loaded with 20 bullets, which they believe was used in the shooting.

In light of the rising number of incidents in the area, local people have urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation.
