Police Launch Manhunt After Brutal Murder at Kineni High School Field, Kisii County

A somber mood has engulfed residents of Bomachoge Chache in Kisii County after a man’s lifeless body was discovered at the Kineni High School field early Thursday morning, sparking a full-scale police investigation.
The deceased, identified as Fred Okerosi, aged 30, was reportedly found with severe injuries all over his body, including deep wounds and signs of strangulation around the neck, suggesting a brutal and violent attack.
Upon receiving reports from locals, security personnel and officers from Ogembo Police Station swiftly responded to the scene. The body was removed from the field and transported to the Ogembo Sub-County Hospital mortuary for preservation and further post-mortem examination.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based in Ogembo have already begun combing the area for evidence. Sources indicate that several people are being questioned to assist with investigations, though no arrests had been made by the time of reporting.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear. However, authorities are not ruling out possibilities including personal disputes, robbery, or gang-related violence. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations.
