Kenyan environmentalist, Truphena Muthoni has set yet another Guiness World Record by hugging 1,234 trees within one hour during an environmental campaign in Brazil.

Her achievement has attracted local and international attention with many Kenyans celebrating the milestone as a unique blend of environmental awareness and personal endurance.

Muthoni was welcomed back to Kenya with warmth. Upon her arrival, family, friends and supporters welcoming Muthoni praised her for putting Kenya on the global map through the unusual but symbolic challenge.

Reports surrounding the event indicate the challenge involved moving rapidly between trees while ensuring each hug met the official verification standards required for Guinness World Records consideration.

Muthoni managed to hug 1,234 trees in just 60 minutes, averaging more than 20 trees a minute during the challenge.

“This achievement is not just about breaking a record. It is also about promoting love for nature and environmental conservation,” Muthoni said after the event.

Her record-setting moment in Brazil not only brought international recognition but also sparked conversations around the role individuals can play in protecting the environment.
