Former Budalangi MP becomes the most recent public figure to join DP Ruto’s secretariate after Journalist Hussein Mohammed
Hussein Mohamed, the Director of Communications for the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign, claimed Namwamba, 46, was chosen for the new position because of his diplomatic expertise.
In 2016, he resigned as Secretary-General of the ODM, claiming that party leader Raila Odinga could no longer persuade voters to support him.
Namwamba graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Laws and an American University with a Master of Laws in International Law.
Namwamba served as the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s CAS in January 2018, after he served as a Budalang’i Member of Parliament from 2007 to 2017.
