Widowers from South MugirangoKisii county, happy at last

Widowers from South Mugirango, Kisii County, have everything to be happy of after they were visited by Radio Vuna fraternity on Friday, 9.
Radio Vuna presenters led by manager John Ogoi in their visit to the widowers carried with them different necessities for them. Speaking during the occasion Mr Ogoi said that Radio Vuna has the needs of the vulnerable in the society at heart and is always dedicated to meeting their needs as a Christian radio station.
” We are determined as Radio Vuna to help the society as it is one of our pillars- community development. We did this at Gakero, Bomachoge Chache not so long ago and today here we are again to see that the widowers here benefit from the same. That is a true religion,” said Ogoi.
The widowers who could not hide their joy applauded Radio Vuna fraternity for coming in at a time when they needed help most.
” We are really happy with you Radio Vuna for the initiative and sacrifice that you have shown to us. We appreciate your efforts. For a long time we have been forgotten by the society after the death of our beloved wives but today we can smile, ” said Samson Onchieku, one of the beneficiaries.
Samson Onchieku expressed his feelings on what he goes through in the absence of his wife and said that he at times goes hungry without food. His wife died in 1993 and 27 years later life has not been easy for him.
“My wife passed on in 1993 and to me, life has not been the same again for I go through so many things. I depend on my daughters in law at least to have something for myself. If they miss providing then it just slides like that,” Onchieku noted.
Radio Vuna manager thanked all those who supported the initiative especially the fans of Radio Vuna who turned up in large numbers to officiate the occasion.
The fans led by Pastor Manyange appreciated the efforts of Radio Vuna led by John Ogoi for reaching out to people on their different needs.
The widowers were provided with necessities like clothes, shoes, food among other goodies.
