WATER PANS TO HELP FARMERS IN NYANDARAGWA

Farmers from Nyandaragwa Constituency, Nyandarua county have discovered a way to solve the problem of food shortage by using water pans .

The government has began the setting of water pans in lower parts of the constituency , which will solve the problem of water shortages.

“The water pans are a cheap means of storing water to be used by farmers during the dry season for livestock,  crop irrigation and carrying out domestic chores.”Says MP George Gachagua.

Speaking on Monday during inspection of Karamptom Dam in Leshau Pond Ward ,Gachagua urges farmers to embrace irrigation in order to solve the problem of food shortage.

The National Irrigation Board has set the Karampton Water pan which will help farmers irrigate their crops since, this has been one of the areas that experiences drought.
