Being the 46th conference held in Mombasa County, this week, principals are expecting much from the Ministry of Education and teachers organizations; KNUT and KUPPET concerning solving financial issues in their institutions.

“We need the government to make a glance on the financial crisis and issues concerning school fees for parents are facing lack of money. This has caused problem in paying school workers and ensuring that students have participated in sports and festivals successfully,” said Daniel Osanya principal, Homa Bay.

They are urging the Ministry of Education to ensure that the capitation fee goes hand in hand with the cost of the requirements.

“We are facing a problem in acquiring enough foods, laboratory equipment and books due to a rise in their cost. Let the capitation fee go hand in hand with the cost of the requirements so that we can avoid big debts,” added Emanuel Owino, principal Siaya County.
