SIMBA ARATI ON BURSARY DISBURSEMENT

Kisii county governor Simba Paul Arati has today rolled out the issuing of bursaries for the needy secondary school students in Kisii county to help in supporting their education.
Speaking at Kisii stadium, the governor gave reasons why the issuance of bursaries had been stopped for a long period (four years) and that that money was transferred to aid in other developments such building roads.
He has given out a total of one million and thirty five shillings(kshs.1,000,035) to start with and he has promised that every ward will be getting three million each for the same moving forward.
Constituencies that are representing 25 wards in the region will be responsible for giving out the bursary forms on the .Members of county assembly(MCAS) will oversee the exercise together with area chiefs and ward admins who will be helping the applicants .
Parents or guardians have been asked to carry their national identification cards and the birth certificated of the students both original documents and photocopies, failure to which they won’t be given the forms. This will only to be done where they voted and will be thoroughly checked on in the system.
Also he has reminded them to ensure they give the correct information so that their children don’t miss out on the opportunity.
In addition to that, he has also given a stern warning to the parents /guardians against being lied to and lured into buying the bursary forms since they are not for sale.
