Kisii County Commissioner Warns Against Violence

Kisii county commissioner Allan Macharia on Tuesday hosted various stakeholders in Kisii county to speak about peace amid the electioneering period.
The event that took a half a day, was held at Agricultural Training Centre(ATC).
He said that as security personnel, they are ready to ensure there is tight security during this period and during elections.
The county commissioner urged the youth, not to be used by rogue politicians and instead, be good ambassadors at this period.
This meeting comes a few days after some weapons were recovered by police,which are under investigation, whereby some politicians have said their enemies are planning to cause violence.
However, he gave a stern warning to whoever planning to cause violence.
” I want to sound a very serious warning to them, that it won’t be tolerated. It is a matter of time before we catch up with you, who is planning violence in this county. And I want to assure you that if found, the full force of the law will be followed, “he said.
Macharia assured the Kisii county residents that the security apparatus are ready and heads up towards elections.
He as well asked the residents to report to them, incase they see people preparing or planning violence.
Other teams that attended the meeting include members of the clergy led by Bishop Orina Omangi of the ACK Kisii Diocese, Deputy county commisioners from all Kisii subcounties, representatives from IEBC, Red Cross, Gusii Council of elders, Maendeleo ya Wanawake leadership, Boda Boda leadership among other stake holders.
