Written by on January 30, 2023

Business men and women from Keroka market which lies on the border of  Kisii and Nyamira Counties are complaining to the said County governments for failure to clean garbage in the market.

There is lack of enough toilets in the market and increased volume of garbage which has led to poor health conditions and contamination of food.

Speaking to Radio Vuna, Magrate Moraa one of the business-woman said,

“We have no enough toilets and there is a lot of garbage inside this market which has led to space minimization for daily activities. We also fear on conditions of our foods in the market.”

They complain by saying that they do pay taxes as usual hoping to be assisted but they have not yet received an answer from the County Government of Kisii and Nyamira; The condition has led to lack of shelter caves to hide in times of either rain or a lot of sun.

“We have nowhere to go and we lack shelter caves, every now and then tax collectors are making our lives here difficult and we do pay our taxes as usual. We need your assistance,” Moraa added.

They are pleading to Kisii and Nyamira County governments to look and plan on how to help them grow their business because without business there is no economy strengthening.
