Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo has announced the release of medical drugs valued at 31.5 million Kenyan Shillings to county hospitals. This move has been welcomed by the residents of Nyamira as it promises easier access to essential medical supplies.
During the release of these drugs, Governor Nyaribo expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring a continuous and reliable supply of medical drugs in the days ahead. He emphasized the importance of these drugs in sustaining the health and well-being of the county’s residents.
In a stern message to those involved in illicit practices, Governor Nyaribo called on individuals who pilfer drugs from hospitals with the intent of selling them at inflated prices to reflect on their actions. He questioned, “To those who take drugs from the hospital and then sell them to the less fortunate, do you not feel a sense of shame?”
Governor Nyaribo also took a moment to address past shortcomings in the distribution of medical drugs, acknowledging that there had been instances where empty boxes were provided instead of the much-needed medications. He attributed this to a previous culture of hoarding drugs, preventing their proper allocation to hospitals. He humbly appealed for forgiveness from the people of Nyamira and urged them to collaborate to ensure the success of this renewed effort.
