Kisii Governor Simba Arati made a notable appearance on Friday at the Gusii Stadium, where he attended an event hosted by Ajiry. Ajiry is specifically designed to provide a robust platform for young individuals to connect and network, offering a wide array of job opportunities that span both the blue-collar and white-collar sectors.
Governor Arati, during his address at the event, urged young people to embrace the world of digital work. He emphasized the importance of thinking creatively and exploring innovative avenues to enable youth access to technology, skills, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. He said, “We therefore need to think outside the box to enable the youths to access technology, skills, and means to make a living. As you are aware digital technology advancement has literally turned the world into a global village. Therefore it is important that we train our youths to embrace the uptake of new technology so as to acquire skills to enable them to compete for jobs in the global market.”
Ajiry’s mission aligns with the goal of empowering youth by expanding their horizons and providing them with opportunities to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. The program facilitates a means for young job seekers to cast a wide net in their quest for employment opportunities, harnessing the power of technology to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers.
Notably, the Ajiry program has already made significant strides in this direction, having trained over three thousand youths at its center. Furthermore, it continues to enroll more young individuals in its free training programs focused on information and communication technology (ICT).
