Ibeno ward member of county assembly of Kisii Hon. Steve Arika has asked Kenyans to be aware of people masquerading as county bursary officers and giving out fake forms to people in need.

Speaking to the press Arika noted with concern that majority of uninformed people end up believing in these frauds and give out their money hoping to get assistance in return.

There has been propaganda spreading across Kisii county region where residents have been receiving information from fake people saying that county bursaries have already been implemented in Kisii County.

“There are frauds outside here confusing people that the bursaries of Kisii County are out and this is not true. It’s lately when we received supplementary of this bursaries and our able Governor Simba Arati is still in the process of ensuring everyone gets it,” said Arika

He has urged residents who are asked to buy these forms to report these frauds to the police or even to MCA in their region.

“Let’s wait for our Governor final information which will guide us on how each and everyone will access this bursary after he is done with his preparations,” Arika concluded.

These fraudsters have intentions of benefiting from these uninformed residents by using fake profiles.
